Web Browser
This app is a web browser for your DK1 or 2. The app is composed of two browser objects in a skybox. The first browser displays web content, when the second one is a toolbox with bookmarks, navigation and display options, and is fully customizable.
When you open a website with the toolbox, the skybox will change.
This app is an experiment we use to study the possible interfaces for the teachers in a VR classroom. The app is flexible as you can completely replace the toolbox panel, do your own selection of websites, add widgets etc (the web page is transparent).
Compatibility
The browser is based on webkit and supports HTML5. However, in order to view HTML5 videos, you will need to download and install a third party codec.
Customization
To customize the toolbox, you can edit the main.htm file located in Browser_data in the application folder. As you will see, you can use basic JavaScript calls to open a webpage, change the skybox, navigate back and forward, and change the position of the main webpage.
